Q: i have a 87 chevy caprice with 83,000 miles on it should i change the trans fluid or no?
it says in the original manual change the trans fluid every 15,000 miles if the car is mainly driven under one or more of these conditions:

in heavy city traffic where the outside temp is regulary reaches 90f or higher
in hilly or mountanious terrain
frequent trailer pulling
uses such as found in taxi police car,or delievery service.

to answer that is no to the above maybe stop and go traffic but thats normal…and as for the weather its always changing cold to warm now so i dunno what to do? im in chicago… it says if you do not use your car under any of these conditions change both the fluid and filter every 100,000 miles…. so should i change it at the 100,000 mark? cause i dunno when it was last changed?

A: yes you should change it,

A: change the fluid and filter now, I would never let a car go 100,000 miles before the fluid was changed, I change mine at 50,000.

Well my friend and I are trying to make a list of things we want to do befor we die(not really more like things to do befor 2012). I’m 16 she’s 17. So far we have

~Spend a day eating junk food and not feel guilty.
~Give your mom adozen roses in a randome day.
~Take a roud trip
~Drive in a car we will never afford.
~Drive in rout 66
~Spend a whole day with your dad.
~Eat something you can’t even say.
~Sing really loud in the middle of the mall.
~buy 200 balloons and let them go all together.
~Go to a drive in movie theater.
~Get wet in the rain in front of my house with music blasting out of my car.
~use another religiouse world view for a day.
~Go to Canada but as much beer as we can get drunk and say. Everything we feel.
~Tell our boyfriends we can’t have sex until were married(don’t think they are going to like that)

~Give a homeless person lunch.
~Go to a rich area. And pretend to have all the money we need.
~learn to skateboard (we need more girls doing that)

Yes I know they are stupid lame things but they seem kinda fun and well,we just want to do something stupid …so do you guys have other ideas?

Okay so my options are aunt, parents, or possibly sister.
My parents are both alcoholics, and my dad is a homophobic jerk. We live in a suburb of Chicago – hate the suburbs, but LOVE Chicago.
My aunt, her husband, and her daughter all say I can live with them. They live in Southern California, near San Diego…None of them know I’m gay, (I don’t know how they’ll react). Also, they’re emotionally stable, not drunks, have real jobs.
I’m 18 and going to be turning 19 in July. I’m trying to convince my sister to let me live with her in her apt., it’s in Chicago city so I could easily afford rent by not using a car. But she keeps telling me I should go live with my aunt…

i’ve lived w/ my parents for a year and commuted to school…they’re literally crazy and i’ve tried convincing them to get therapy, go to rehab – my mom did once but it didn’t work. i’m ready to give up. if i live with my sister, she always has more roommates than actual rooms just to pay rent, and one of them is moving out.

A: I think it’s disgusting the way your family treats you, but I think they may be feeling homesick too because of their sudden change in attitude towards you. I’m sure that there are at least a couple of people at your school who will give you a chance! Just be friendly at school and try talk about things that interests them. I also think you should talk to your parents about the way they treat you, like, really talk! They must be feeling stressed out and are taking it out on you. Just stay out of your parents and sister’s way for a bit.

Q: What to do? Brand new mom having problems with fiance?
Here are the facts:
I have a 10 week old little girl with my fiance of 2 years.
He is 23 and I am 28. We moved across the country (LA to Chicago) about 6 months ago to be around (my) family with the new baby. His family is about 400 miles away.
He has a problem keeping a job. Since we have been together he has been unemployed 4 times for 3 weeks to 2 months. I have always supported him. His credit is terrible and mine has become much worse since we got together. I have decided to move back in with my mom so I can pay off debt and improve my credit score. At first he was going to rent a room from someone and we were going to stay together. I wanted him to prove to me that he could be independent. I am sick of being responsible for him. I found out he had written his ex saying she still looks good. ( we have had this problem before and he promised he wouldn’t talk to her anymore) I also saw an email where he replied to a girl that contacted him about hooking up…He said sorry sweetie, I am engaged. but you are cute and I have never done anything with anyone who only had 1 picture. Put more up and who knows what might happen. Hit me back…… He says he will do whatever it takes to show me he loves me and the baby. But I don’t know if this is repairable. I don’t want to let him use my car when he could use it to meet up with girls.
I want more for my baby and myself.
I guess the pros are that he has found a place for himself to live, is looking for a better job, wants to spend time with our daughter, like I said he says he will do whatever it takes for as long as it takes…
I don’t know why but I feel alot of guilt…like I am putting a puppy out in the rain.

A: He WON’T Change for you or his baby or for anyone else. I suggest you move on, you are way more mature than he is and he doesn’t understand the importance of the situation. He doesn’t realize he has a CHILD to raise, he isn’t even grown up himself yet so how can he raise a child? MOVE ON, stay with your mother and fix your credit, do it for yourself because NO ONE else will do it for you. This is the best option for you to have more for yourself and baby, be self reliant. Maybe one day when he decides to grow up and take responsibility seriously he can see his child and help take care of what he helped create. Good luck

Q: i think ive hit a dead end… what should i do?
okay, here’s the thing. I live with my boyfriend, in his moms house, in Chicago. My whole family lives in Kentucky, and i miss it there. I love my boyfriend, but he doesn’t wanna leave here. we’ve been together for almost 2 years, and are wanting to get married, but right now, he has a job, and has to use my car to go, which means i cant have a job, and i hate that. Also, we both talked about it, and we both love kentucky… but he doesn’t want to move and lose his job. (hes a water blaster and makes alot of money) But i want to move home. I want to stay with him, and wait for him to get serious, but i cant stand living in his parents house anymore. On top of it all, his mom doesn’t really like me that much, and she WILL not allow him to move out of the state. Hes 22 and I’m 19… and im honestly looking for an outsiders opinion. Do i leave, go home without him, get over my broken heart, and move on…. Or do i wait for Him to finally make his move, get us outta his moms house, and try to work things out? And after all that, How do i make his mom like me?

A: You’re both pretty young still. Give it a bit of time and don’t rush into marriage. Once his mom realizes you are in it for the long haul, she will become more accepting of you.

Being in close quarters with her on a daily basis does not help matters either. You need a job to get you out of the house. (There is public transit in Chicago or you can carpool with your boyfriend, so not having use of the car does not preclude you from getting a job.) This will help you reach your goal of moving out on your own sooner, which in turn will give you and his mother your own space.

Q: Is it possible to afford $600 rent and still go to school full time?
I’m 19.
Living at home/commuting isn’t an option. Parents are both alcoholics/dad’s homophobic…and I just hate the boring town I live in.
I want to move into a tiny studio apt. in Chicago. It’s actually $525 but I’m estimating $600 with utilities.
Since public transportation is so good, I won’t be using a car.
Just wondering does this sound crazy? Or would it still be possible to pay for food, laundry, hygenetics, etc., and still have a little spending money leftover? I’m not sure if I should just take a semester off school to work more or just try to rough it out.

Also I tried looking for roommates but no luck…and I don’t want a random roommate from Craigslist, cuz that’s just a little too weird for me.
I’ll have about $5000 in savings by the time I move.
i would have a job whether i’m in school or not…i don’t want to spend the $5000 it’s mostly just to fall back on.

Q: Whats should i get for my first car im thinking Mitubishi Lancer or Ford Focus?
I live in chicago and in winter it snows alot but i dont think either of those cars have 4wd but i guess i can live without that if i drive safe. Also i heard the lancer is bad in snowy conditions and the salt messes with the paint and it gets stuck alot is that true and if so how is the focus in snowy weather or what car would be better for me . Also my car will be used to go to school and downtown 3 days a week after school so mpg is a little important i guess and i dont want a ugly car thats why i like the lancer because it looks nice and focus just looks ok and the focus is weak in terms of power but i understand its safe and has Antilock brakes and electronic stability control and safety is important too since im a new driver and inexperienced. Thanks and if theres a better car for me than these two than please recommend it.

Q: Need help finding toy from childhood?
I am desperate. Upon doing some research, I have come up with nothing thus far. As ackward as it may sound, I am looking for a diecast garbage truck toy car that I used to have when I was about 5 years old. I recall this as being my most favorite toy, and I would love to have another one just like to to put up on the wall for memories. The toy is a replica of a Chicago city garbage truck. The truck was brown with some white paint, and it had a bubble shaped back end. It is 6 wheeled, and has a flat front. The toy had a plastic piece on its side, so when that you can move it back and fourth to simulate the movement of the crusher in the truck. To my recollection, my mother purchased this toy for me in 1994 (+ or – 1 year). If I recall correctly, the packaging of the toy had a neon highway theme to it.

I am really desperate, and I really appreciate anyone will to help me out in finding this piece of childhood which I have lost in time.
