A: Did you ask to “borrow” $20 when she gave it to you? If so, then she had an expectation of being repaid.
Obviously she has been taking advantage of your generosity, but she seems to be a bit down on her luck financially and maybe that $20 was very important to her…

A: these are ratios
200 miles / 4 hours = 1200 miles / X
answer will be in hours, x= 4/200×1200 = 4 x 6 = 24 hours
2 jim box / 3 Sam box = x / 189 Sam box
answer will be in Jim box, x = 2/3 x 189 = 126 Jim box production
Finally, 13 gal / 150 miles = x / 750 miles
answer will be in gallons, x = 13 / 150 times 750, do the math and impress your friends and teacher

A: 1. 24 hours
explanation:
200 miles in 4 hrs; hence he travels 200/4 miles per hour –> 50 mph; hence 1200 miles –> x hours
x = 1200/50 = 24 hrs
2. $ 4.32
explanation:
4 gallons = 108 cents –> 1 gallon = 108/4 = 27 cents
Hence 16 gallons = 27*16 cents = 432 cents or $4.32
3. 45 gallons
explanation:
12 inches = 1feet
Hence, 5 feet = 60 inches
so for 1 inch, the gallons are = 450 / 60
for 6 inches = (450/60) * 6 = 45 gallons
4. $1.13
Explanation:
2 apples = 15 cents –> 1 apple = .7.5 cents
15 apples = 7.5*15 = 112.5 cents = $1.125
approximately $1.13
5. $116.2
6. 126
7. 40

A: one reason we hardly ever answer long questions (or do your homework for you) is that it’s a real pain to try to type an answer when the question has scrolled off the screen, so I’ll do 9 and 10 only. they’re all simple proportions. the key is “at that rate” which means equal fractions, which means proportions.
9) the fractions pair up gallons and miles
13 gal / 150 mi = x gal / 750 mi.
cross multiply
150x = 13 • 750
x = 13 • 5 = 65 gal.
10) same rate of YIELD PER ACRE, fractions are bushels / acres
290 bu / 5 a = x bu / 12 a
5x = 290 • 12
x = 58 • 12 = 696 bushels
when you cross multiply 2 fractions, it’s top of one times bottom of the other –
if a/b = c/d, then ad = bc

Q: Visiting Orlando Florida, Do I need a car?
Hi, I have checked the price of getting taxis from Airport to the hotel it is like 90 dollars round trip.
If I rent a car, it would cost me 300 dollars. But I get to use the car for four days. And I am free to drive anywhere I want to.
Is it easy to park in Orlando Florida? I lived in Chicago, it is certainly not easy to find a parking space.
I would be doing 3 day at the disney anyways. Just wondering if I need to rent a car?
A: It depends on what you have planned. We have been to WDW 13 times; in fact we are at WDW right now. The first few times we did not rent a car. We found that if you have a reservation for a meal at a hotel (such as O’Hanas @ the Polynesian, Boma’s @ the Animal Kingdom Lodge, etc.) you have to leave a lot earlier to get there on time because you can’t go from hotel to hotel if you are staying at a WDW resort. You have to go to the transportation & ticket center & get another bus to the hotel you’re going too. We also like to go to Sea World & Busch Gardens while we’re here, so renting a car is just a lot more convenient. We love staying on-site to get the whole Disney experience, extra magic hours, hospitality, & free parking at the parks. We haven’t found parking a problem at the parks. They have trams in the parking lots. We like to go to the outlets too, & don’t have any problems parking there either. Have fun!
Q: Possibly moving to Sacramento?
When my lease is up in August I plan on moving from North Carolina to somewhere in or around Sacramento. I am curious as to how good the public transportation is in Sacramento. I lived in Chicago for over 20 years and grew very accustomed to not having to use a car while living there. I am also curious about neighborhoods that are more downtown than outlying suburbs. Any information will be appreciated. Thank you.
A: Downtown Sacramento is a little more like a cross between an old time downtown tree studded area than a downtown Chicago or San Francisco. In terms of “hustle and bustle” it is nothing like Chicago and probably even nothing like downtown Raleigh. The majority of business in downtown Sac is state and federal offices which becomes deserted on weekends and evenings. On the periphery is more of the small “happening” places of downtown mixed with old well kept houses, apartments and a few larger modern apartments. It’s very easy to get around the “downtown” area on foot or a bike and since the public transportation is concentrated there, you can get to most conveniences by bus or light rail.
That being said, the shopping meccas and national chain stores are mostly in the outlying suburbs. You can get to most of them by public transportation, but not much else unless it is “exactly” along those “spokes” as the public transportation is very poor in terms of connecting the “spokes” outside of downtown. You gotta have a car if you want to do stuff out there. San Francisco is a very fun day trip without a car. You can take Amtrak from downtown Sac and connect to BART into the city and have a great time without a car.
If you live in the suburbs, you really must have a car and will be using it everywhere.
Q: what are your thoughts on Pontiac Grand Am?
I’m not a car person, but I’ve been looking recently for a new “used” car hehe
I might be traveling two-three times from Detroit to Chicago and I need a decent car. I am also looking for a car that’s better on gas. I’ve only ever drove mini vans and Fords. I have owned a T-Bird.
What are you opinions on the grand am? I have noticed that there are TONS of them around where I live.. I would like to get a late 90s early 2000 4 door. probably a 6 cylinder..
Is it good in snow? I will most likely be moving to Chicago in the next year. I know a lot of the running well and gas depends on the maintenance of the vehicle, but overall is it a decent car?
Thank You
A: these cars are great cars very dependable. my wife and i acually just bought one last year and it snowed like crazy here in kentucky and it pulled through the snow like it was nothing and it handled very well also. ours is a 1997 grand am and it is a wonderful car very good choice for a used car.
Q: I went through a red light mabey?
I went through a yellowlight and suddenly all these flashes in my mirrors, so I assume I got a few pictures taken of me by tarfic cams, how much are red light tickets in chicago IL? and how could I pay it before my friends finds out I was using his car? lol
So I may have gone through the redlight, andf will he have the ticket in the mail? and how much could it possably be?
A: Ouchhhh not good. If he gets a ticket, he’s getting a call and the bill.
So you might wanna let him know beforehand and get some money on hand.
You might have. A lot of people do.
It could be a week or two.
Q: Why is my car using fuel so quickly?
Hello I have a 2000 chrysler cirrus 2.4L…Ive noticed lately when I fill up my car uses gas up faster than i think its supposed to. I am driving in suburban area(south chicago) just so you know for reference..Ive recently have done work on my car (headgasket and cylinder head work). I know its using gas fast because my mom will go the same route with her big suv and not really use any gas.Oh and the car has a normal idle ..800rpm. Ill go from 1/2 tank to 1/4 tank of gas in 20 min trip. So what will cause a car to consume fuel so quickly? Gas is way to expensive to just waste these days.
A: check for a loose connection on fuel line.
Q: I need help with public bus riding /:?
So i am going to chicago to live and i have never lived in a city where i needed to take the bus. i would rather take the bus or walk in chicago, because i will not be using my car frequently up there.
I have never been anywhere that i needed to ride a bus , and i was wondering if anyone could fill me in and help me !
like…
is there a bus pass in chicago, like grey hound, where i pay monthly? or weekly, or maybe get like ‘this many rides’ with? or do i need to buy them seperatly?
Are the buses as bad as people make them out to be?
i know their obviously going to be ‘public’ but i have heard they are very gross, and even scary. i was hopeing that someone could fill me in on maybe how awful downtown chicago buses are, as far as greyhound ones, or if there was another option?
any other facts/help/experiance would help me a ton, since i dont know ANYTHING, and i mean ANYTHING about public transit (:
Thannk you alllllll !
A: They have different kinds of tickets – all of the options you listed. The one that works like a debit card might be best for you. The only problem is refilling it – it might be best to figure out where a Currency exchange is and just by them in $10 increments.
The busses are fine – I take them all the time – although it can be confusing figuring out which one to take, I’ve never had a problem with people bothering me.
When you’re on the bus you go to the back as much as you can – the front of the bus is reserved for priority seating. You’re actually supposed to use the back door to exit but it is not required – you can go out the front if you want to.
Ring the bell in time for the driver to stop but not so soon that you are at the wrong stop. Stand and go to the door ahead of the time you want to get out. You can tell the driver you don’t know the city and request the street name and the bus driver will stop for you and sometimes announce the street.
I can’t think of anything else it’s one of those situations where I’m so familiar with it it’s hard to break it down into steps.
____
google the words “cta transit cards” for more information. I can’t put the link in because they hate my Mac and I keep getting kicked out.

We have all thought about it. Where would you go? What supplies would you bring? What weapons would you have? Who would you have with you? Who would you try to save? How would you get around?
I have put some thought into this question, not because I think zombies are going to come out of the ground(which they wouldn’t) because its just fun. Think about. All hell would break loss and we would be pretty much allowed to do anything!”
My response
“That would be awesome…
Hmmm, I wouldn’t stay in one place, I normally don’t travel so I would wanna go everywhere, from place to place after living there for a little while, I would go from where I am now (King of Prussia) to some towns in Virginia, then to Savannah Georgia, then go to Louisiana to see all of the beautiful trees and plantations, then to New Orleans in Louisiana, and then…I don’t know…..But I would wanna see everything. I would bring things essential to my survival of course, like Med kits, antidotes and serums (If I wasn’t immune), some pure nutrition based foods that would keep me alive without consuming an entire square meal, a small portable radio to pick up signals from other possible survivors in my route, and a portable yet good blanket to keep me warm when I have those moments where I can’t walk any further. I would bring some of my favorite weapons, I would get the infamous Chicago Typewriter (Thompson M1A1 / M1928), the superior Smith and Wesson Model 500 magnum (Handcannon), a Beretta 93R, a small pocket dagger for stick situations, a combat knife for close encounters, a sweet silver katana, and a hand grenade to blow it all to hell.
Now If I was gonna bring someone with me, I would make sure it was the hottest guy alive, and any other survivors I come by on my travels. I would try to sneak away from my dad though… : P
I would also try to save anyone I meet on my way, but I would go across the states to see if any of my family members had survived. I would also go to a pet shop or pound to rescue any living animals I could. I would set them all free, and take some dogs (preferably german shepherds) with me to protect me from Zombehz.
I would probably walk a lot, but I would also use any cars I could hotwire, like what the other guy said though, I would love a hummer for getting around in style and comfort.
But anyways, I would try to make the best out of it, even though it’s the fall of mankind I would still love it.

Uh, okay biken?
A: I have studied this subject for most of my life and I am ready for the apocalypse, literally. First of all, were going to be dealing with reanimated corpses infected with the solanum virus. This virus first kills the human by shutting down all the organs, except for half of the brain; the half of the brain required for motor skills. The other half of the brain, the thinking part, is killed off with all the other organs. Once the corpse is reanimated, it becomes a zombie, this zombie will try to eat any living matter. Once fluidic contact occurs between you and a zombie, (bites, scratches, blood spray, etc.) you will soon become a zombie. I find your plan to be flawed, but I wont go into depth on it. Instead, I will express what I will do in a zombie apocalypse:
1. WEAPONRY:
Good anti-zombie weaponry consists of a firearm which can effectively get a head shot on a zombie from about 100 yards away. Remember, you kill the brain, you kill the ghoul. For rifles this means a semi-automatic, low recoil, quiet, rifle. A 22. caliber rifle or larger will do just fine. A shotgun is good when loaded with heavy buckshot, but only in the ranges of 10-25 yards (depending on the barrel length and the choke). Automatic weapons are NOT SUGGESTED. Automatic weapons like your “Chicago Typewriter” are not suggested because they waste too much ammo and are severely inaccurate. Pistols should be a last resort only weapon, I would choose a glock or a 1911 because both 45. and 9mm ammunition are fairly popular. For a weapons system, I would choose an AK-47 assault rifle and a Remington 870 tactical shotgun.
AK-47 ASSAULT RIFLE
-will not break, jam, or clog up
-little to any maintenance
-ammo is abundant
-parts interchangeable
-simply action
REMINGTON 870 TACTICAL SHOTGUN
-tried and proven design
-takes any 12 gauge shotgun shells
-insanely customizable
- fairly light
-simply action
COLT 1911 45. ACP PISTOL
-tried and proven design
-fires a hard hitting round
-simple construction
-beautiful gun
And then there’s melee, when you run out of ammo or just don’t want to waste your ammo. I would suggest using a steel crowbar at least 3 feet in length.
CROWBAR:
-sturdy, one piece design
-heavy enough to smash skulls
-can pry open doors
-little to any maintenance
And that’s all for weaponry, next.
2. FOOD AND WATER
You need to eat and drink to stay alive, I would suggest getting a lot of bottled water and canned food (or MRE’s) before the outbreak. Also, train your body to run off of smaller portions of food and water, this will come in handy.
3. TRANSPORTATION
In a zombie apocalypse, you want to be as quiet as possible, so any gasoline powered transpotrtation is a big no-no. A bycicle would be great if you could keep it together, but just traveling on foot is going to be much easier.
Thats all for now folks, hope you liked it.
